Supernaturally Shining!

OMGOODNESS!!! January is already almost gone in 2016! How crazy is that?! I feel like yesterday we were celebrating the New Year! Time really does fly, whether you’re having fun or not. Lol I have been having a good year so far though, and I believe that the best is yet to come for this year!

I can’t really say that it’s been a good year so far because amazing miracles have been happening because they haven’t happened JUST YET! I have had quite a few down times. What I believe has made it great so far is my mindset. It has changed A LOT since 2015, and I have begun to EMBRACE my challenges, or I should say, EMBRACE GOD!

There is definitely a noticeable change in how I handle certain circumstances. I’m praying more. I’m trusting more. I’m handing over instead of trying to hold on. I’m letting God be God more and more in my life, and let me say….it is a lot more of a peaceful lifestyle.

Now, please hear me. I still have my moments. My moments that I lose focus. My moments where my circumstances seem bigger than God. My moments I try to control the situation. My moments I let fear get the best of me. Yes, they come and still come often because I don’t know if you knew this but life doesn’t just stop just because you make the decision to follow God wholeheartedly. Who knew? Lol It’s still there. Staring you right in the face, testing you to see if your actions really line up with your words.

The great thing though, those moments don’t last long. I am quicker to put my flesh under subjection, and tell it, “NO! God’s got this!” It felt awkward at first, and honestly in the beginning I didn’t believe it. But the more I started to really draw nearer to God and grow in Him, the more I found this statement to be true.

God has captured my heart in so many ways this month, I just can’t help but want to find out more about this AMAZING GOD who calls Himself my Father! My Friend. My Lover. He has been showing Himself faithful just in His unfailing love for me, and I’ve just been falling more and more in love with Him. And this has really helped me in trusting my life in His hands.

SO! Lol to my point! Lol

I love reading blogs and I ran across The Redeemed Girl’s Blog (which I LOVE by the way), and one of the blogs was becoming a woman of vision! Here is the link if you want to check it out!

God and I have already discussed that He has BIG BIG plans for me this year and many more years to come, so I just want to start WALKING by faith (which is my 2016 word by the way) in that. She talked about focusing and creating a life vision statement that you base your actions around. Pretty much your real “why” for everything. We can set resolutions and goals, but accomplishing them without a clear focus or vision is like setting yourself up to fail. Which I KNOW to be true!

So, I got to work! I read through the scriptures in my quiet time and what stuck out to me the most was light! Being a light. God had just spoken to me about being a light no matter what is going on in my life and to focus on what He is doing on Sunday. So when I read those scriptures, the light bulb was slowly starting to come on. So then I asked the Holy Spirit to show me. “What is it that You want my life vision to be God?”

Later that day my mom showed me the day’s devotional in Jesus Calling and IT HIT ME! OMG! God is so good like that!

This is what the devotional said:

“It is possible to enjoy Me and glorify Me in the midst of adverse circumstances. In fact, My light shines most brightly through believers who trust Me in the dark. That kind of trust is supernatural – a production of My indwelling Spirit. When things seem all wrong, trust Me anyway. I am much less interested in right circumstances than in right responses to whatever comes your way.

FIRST!!! #BOOM lol Hits you right in the stomach! How amazing that God shines so much brighter in our dark places in the lives of those who trust Him. Your circumstance could be trying to TAKE YOU OUT, but you can still find joy and glorify God in the midst of it through trusting. Trust Him! And watch Him shine so bright in your life!

Omgoodness! *Praise Break* Yes!

Ok I’m back…woo! Lol God is good! So here is what God revealed to me as my life vision statement through those scriptures and that devotional:

Supernaturally Shine! Enjoy and glorify God in the midst of ALL circumstances!”

EEK! I love it so much and it speaks so many volumes to me.

What does this mean to me?

  • It reminds me that I was created to bring God glory! That is my purpose! That’s why I was born and why I’m still living today.
  • I know that He has already pre-arranged EVERYTHING that He has called me to do and has given me everything I need to get it done! So I can rest, trust, and enjoy Him in our journey together.
  • The brightest shine comes out of trusting God even in the darkest places. No matter what is going on, God is there, and He always will be there!

OK…I know that was a pretty long post, but I want to close out with this. Let’s focus on Him, and glorify Him as best as we know how! That’s through getting in the word and praying so that we can know Him more. That’s through spreading His goodness to others around us through our own personal lives and experiences, our ministries, etc. Let’s focus on being the light that He’s called us to be and let Him handle all of the other mess that needs to be cleaned up in us!

I love you guys dearly!!

Be Blessed!

PS….You should totally create a Life Vision Statement! I believe it will be a LIFE CHANGER! 🙂
